Dead Sea Symbolic Ash Scattering

At 427 meters (1,401 feet) below sea level, this massive salt lake is the lowest
place on Earth. Fed principally by the Jordan River, the sea is located along the
Syrian-African Rift Valley between Israel and Jordan. Its highly saline waters make
marine life all but impossible, giving the sea its name.
As the site of Sodom and Gomorra, the Dead Sea features prominently in Biblical
history as well as in the annals of the ancient Egyptian, Roman and Greek empires.
On the shores of the Dead Sea, you can select another unique final quest
destination - Masada. This rugged natural fortress of majestic beauty is located in
the Judean Desert overlooking the Dead Sea. It is a symbol of the ancient kingdom
of Israel and was the last stand of Jewish patriots facing the Roman army in 73 A.D.
