Sea Of Galilee Symbolic Portion Ash scattering

Israel’s largest freshwater lake is the Sea of Galilee (also known as Kinneret and
Lake Tiberias). It is fed by the Jordan River as well as underground springs.
The site features many holy places where according to the New Testament Jesus
preached and performed miracles.
It’s also the place where Jesus walked on water, calmed the storm, and fed the five
thousand.
The Sea of Galilee attracts numerous Christian pilgrims from around the world at
locations such as Tabgha, Capernaum and on the Mt. of Beatitudes.
Nearby Safed, with its artist colony and klezmer festival, recalls its history as the
home of Jewish scholarship and mysticism throughout the ages.
